In my estimation, spiritual bypassing is when we use spiritual phrases and practices to bypassing the necessary work that we could do to address the trauma in our lives. It covers over a multitude of inadequacies of the church and our own journeys.
Once we have admitted that we are avoiding what is necessary, we can begin to heal from our past.
Laura and I have talked about bypassing in other episodes, but this may be the first that we were solely dedicated to this topic exclusively. In a way, we’re not going to bypass the subject of bypassing any longer — here it is!
